Promoting a user is a significant action that changes their access levels and role within the system. This guide will walk you through the step-by-step process of promoting a user, ensuring you understand each part of the procedure and its implications.


Before proceeding, please note:- You must have the necessary administrative permissions to perform this action.

- Promoting a user will change their current role and permissions.

- This action should be performed thoughtfully, considering the user's qualifications and the needs of your organization.

By following this guide, you'll be able to efficiently and correctly promote users to internal roles, enhancing your team's structure and capabilities.
Let's begin with the step-by-step process:

User Guide: Promoting a User to an Internal Role

  1. Navigate to the User Profile:

    • Open the user's profile page by clicking on their name or navigating to their profile URL.

  2. Locate the Promote User Option:

    • On the user's profile page, look for the actions menu, typically represented by three dots (...) or a dropdown menu.

    • Click on the menu to reveal the available options.

  3. Initiate the Promotion Process:

    • Find and click on the "Promote to Internal" option in the dropdown menu.

    • This action will open the Promote User modal.

  4. Use the Promote User Modal:

    • In the modal, you'll see a warning message explaining that this action will change the user's role and permissions.

    • You'll find a dropdown menu labeled "What type of user do you want to promote this user to?"

  5. Select the New Role:

    • Click on the dropdown menu to see the available internal roles.

    • Choose the appropriate role for the user you're promoting.

  6. Confirm the Promotion:

    • After selecting the new role, click the "Promote" button at the bottom of the modal.

    • If you want to cancel the action, click the "Cancel" button.

  7. Verify the Promotion:

    • Once you click "Promote," the system will process the change.

    • You should see a success message confirming that the user has been promoted.

    • The page will refresh, showing the user's updated role and permissions.

Important Notes:

  • This action will remove all of the user's current permissions and assign them to the new role.

  • Make sure you have the necessary permissions to perform this action.

  • Double-check the selected role before confirming, as this action may have significant implications for the user's access and responsibilities within the system.
